The Kanata neighbourhood of Beaverbrook is the first established residential community of Kanata located in the west-end of the City of Ottawa. The majority of homes in the area were built between 1964 and 1971 with many having undergone extensive renovations over the years. Beaverbrook is known for a wide array of charming bungalows and 2-storey homes on wide lots with mature trees, hedging and gorgeous rock outcrops. Homes with one or two garages are common throughout the neighbourhood. Village Green, the newer part of the neighbourhood, was developed after 1999 comprised of single family homes, townhomes and condos providing for quick access to the Queensway (Highway 417). Some newer condominium buildings are also located in the area near public transportation routes.
As Kanata was once a city by itself, you are not dependent on travelling outside of Kanata to meet your everyday family needs. Beaverbrook is home to numerous parks, pathways, schools, churches, recreational facilities and nearby shopping, and retail stores. Grocery stores and local conveniences which you come to expect are nearby. The interconnected scenic walking, running, hiking and biking trails between Beaverbrook, Kanata Lakes and Morgan’s Grant provide for larger community interconnectivity and enjoyment of a variety of amenities. In this area, open parks, soccer fields, swimming facilities, basketball courts and tennis courts are abound for summer activities. Nearby Trillium Woods is sought after for hiking and mountain biking activities. Public transportation is available by bus which is connected to the rapid transit system bringing you to downtown Ottawa within 45-60 minutes most times of day. Beaverbrook provides a primary gateway into Kanata Lakes and is near the high-tech centre of the Kanata North Business Park. This technology hub is home to many thriving technology companies providing over 21,000 jobs to Ottawa technology workers including many residing in Kanata.

What We Like About Beaverbrook
There are so many things we love about Beaverbrook and the things that make it a pleasure when helping out our clients, both sellers and buyers. You will find many original owners that raised their families and are now either getting to pre-retirement, retirement or watching their own children set down their own roots in the area. There are few areas in town that emulate the old school traditional family lifestyle but we think it is those special qualities along with the maturity, the quiet streets, the walkability and natural setting as envisioned and created by the late Bill Teron that has so masterfully developed into this wonderful family neighbourhood we call Beaverbrook.
